2019 POINTS POLICY: Each family is required to fulfill 3 volunteer points regardless of the number of swimmers in your family. This means every family will sign up for 3 WHOLE MEETS. You will have the opportunity to sign up for meet positions during registration. This year, families also have a mandatory concession donation sign up. We are only requesting a non-perishable item for the team.
The only exception to the above is if you sign up for a certified position.
-A certified position requires an free online training from the Whale league. This online training must be completed in the time frame given (to be announced soon). The certified positions you can choose from are console (computer operator during meets), judges (making sure strokes at meet are in compliance with league rule), starter (announcer at meet). These positions will count as 1.5 points for each meet.
In addition to the dual meets, each family must volunteer at the Time Trials meet and each family whose swimmer qualifies for the Meet of Champs and All Star meet must fulfill a volunteer position there as well. More details and volunteer descriptions will be in the volunteer section. It takes a minimum of 70 volunteers to run a successful meet!Lead Volunteer Positions: Many parents have expressed they would like to help out more, without the commitment of a board position. A lead volunteer will oversee the volunteers in that area. You won’t be assigned to work a shift in a meet, rather, be available to answer questions, fill in, train new volunteers, etc. You take ownership of that area, making sure everything is running smoothly. No commitment is required outside of dual swim meets and taking a lead position fulfills all required points. The lead positions available are:
